European requirements

Technology built around European requirements

DPP Network is developed around the European framework for Digital Product Passports, including the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and the Battery Regulation. Every passport follows a structured product-group template.

  • Product-group structures. Where an act sets a passport's content, the template carries its fields and publication rules; for the other product groups, the template is ready to use with every field optional.
  • Checked before publication. Required fields must be present before a passport is published. The economic operator remains responsible for the accuracy of the information.
  • Standards-based. Identifiers, data formats and the API are built on the harmonised European standards for Digital Product Passports.

Product groups supported

White-label

The right identity behind every product

Public passport pages identify the organisation responsible for the product: the economic operator, with its company name and logo. DPP Network provides the technology behind the page.

  • Name and logo. The operator's company name and logo on every public passport page.
  • The operator's own codes. Each QR code carries the operator's own identifier or an address on its verified domain.
  • Codes that stay with the operator. Printed QR codes keep working whichever provider it uses.
  • 24 EU languages. Passport page labels in every official EU language.
Example: a passport page with the economic operator's name and logo, on its own domain. The company and domain are invented.

FAQ

Common questions

About the platform, Digital Product Passports and the EU rules.

What is a Digital Product Passport?

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a set of digital data about a product. Depending on the product group, it covers what the product is made of, where it comes from, its environmental impact, and how to use, repair and recycle it.

It opens when you scan a data carrier on the product, its packaging or the documents that come with it. The law defines a data carrier as a linear barcode, a two-dimensional symbol such as a QR code, or another medium a device can read (ESPR, Article 2(29)); the rules for each product group say which one to use. Batteries use a QR code (Battery Regulation, Article 77(3)).

What is DPP Network?

DPP Network is a white-label cloud platform for creating, publishing and hosting Digital Product Passports. Consultants, integrators and service providers can use it to manage passports for the companies they support, and companies can also use it for their own products.

You add your product data, DPP Network builds the passport from the template for your product group, and each passport gets its own QR code and a public page that shows the company's name and logo. See the Cloud DPP Platform page for an overview of the features.

Is DPP Network white-label?

Yes. Passport pages show the company's name and logo, so people who scan a code see the company behind the product. Each QR code carries the company's own identifier or an address on its verified domain, so printed QR codes keep working whichever provider the company uses.

Do we need technical skills?

Everyday work happens in a web browser: entering data and uploading Excel or CSV files. The API is there for teams that want to connect their own systems.

Turn Digital Product Passport requirements into an opportunity

By leveraging DPP Network's dedicated technology infrastructure, consultants, integrators and service providers can expand their capabilities, reduce the need for in-house platform development and build on a foundation designed specifically for Digital Product Passport management.
